Item Description
FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Astra 4000 Falcon is a compact, single-action, semi-automatic pistol produced in Spain by Astra Unceta y Cia.
It was the final version of the famous and distinctive line of Astra “Tube Slide” pistols, which were all simple direct blowback designs.
It was first introduced in 1956 and discontinued in 1983, and was the replacement of the Astra 3000, which was very similar in design except that the Model 4000 had an external hammer, loaded chamber indicator, and the grip safety was removed.
It was available chambered in 9mmK (.380 Auto), 7.65mm (.32 ACP) and .22 LR with magazine capacities of 6, 7 and 10 rounds, respectively.
The Astra 4000 was intended to compete with other compact, blowback semi-auto pistols, like the Walther PP, Mauser HSc and the Beretta M1934.
The pistol features a frame mounted manual safety, as well as a half-cock hammer notch and magazine disconnect/safety.
The magazine release is a button at the bottom of the left side grip.
FIREARM CONDITION:
This gun is in good to very good, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall, original blued finish is still very good to excellent, with only the odd, very small, light scratch in places, with no apparent wear marks.
The original plastic grips panels are also in very good to excellent condition.
The magazine release lever is a little sticky, but would most likely be completely sorted out with a good strip and cleaning.
FIREARM SUITABILITY:
This firearm is suitable for home self defense and is perfect for every-day, concealed carry.
This firearm is suitable for use in the following sports:
- IDPA – BUG division
- STEEL CHALLENGE
