FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
Astra is a Spanish weapons manufacturer that was founded in 1908 and eventually closed in 1997.
In their more recent years they produced some economically priced but good quality and reliable revolver models that were replicas of Colt, Ruger or Smith & Wesson.
The Astra Cadix was a popular series of revolvers produced by Astra starting from 1958, which were available chambered in .22 LR, .32 S&W and .38 Special.
They were also available in different finishes and barrel lengths from 2″ to 6″.
At the time Astra was making high quality copies of Smith & Wesson revolvers using Smith & Wesson manufacturing processes and practices, and the Cadix range are therefore considered well built and reliable firearms.
These guns are good quality and value for money, and are very shootable.
FIREARM CONDITION:
This gun is in very good used condition. It is mechanically good and functional.
The gun seems virtually unused and the blued finish and grips are still perfect.
FIREARM SUITABILITY:
This firearm is suitable for home self defense, as well as everyday, concealed carry.
The Astra Cadix is a great, fun gun for simple target shooting and plinking at the range.
This firearm is suitable for use in the following sports*:
- IDPA – Revolver division
- ICORE – Classic division
- PIN SHOOTING – Stock gun & Stock revolver
- STEEL CHALLENGE
- TARGET SHOOTING
*Even though this revolver could technically be used for these sports, the 5 shot capacity would greatly disadvantage the shooter. This revolver is better suited for target shooting or self-defense.
