FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Colt Single Action Army, also known as the SAA, Model P, Peacemaker and Model 1873, is a 6-shot, single-action revolver designed in 1872 by Colt’s Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company—today’s Colt’s Manufacturing Company—and is still in production to this day.
The Colt SAA “Peacemaker” revolver is a famous piece of Americana.
The revolver was popular with ranchers, lawmen, and outlaws alike, but as of the early 21st century, models are mostly bought by collectors and re-enactors.
Its design has influenced the production of numerous other models from other companies.
The first Colt Model 1873 was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 and was adopted as the standard military service revolver until 1892.
These models issued to the U.S. Cavalry were chambered in .45 Colt and had 7.5″ barrels.
Since its original introduction the Colt SAA has been offered in over 30 different calibers and various barrel lengths, but its overall appearance has remained consistent since 1873. Colt has cancelled its production twice, but brought it back due to popular demand.
The production of Colt SAAs can be differentiated into three generations with various, small changes to their manufacturing and range;
First Generation (1873 – 1941)
Second Generation (1957 – 1974)
Third Generation (1976 – present)
This particular revolver is a Second Generation SAA manufactured in 1970, with a 4.75″ length barrel.

FIREARM CONDITION:
This gun is in fair to good, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
There is a fair amount of light wear along the left side of the barrel, particularly around the muzzle, as well as around the front of the ejector sleeve.
There is also a fair amount of uniform wear as well as wear marks to the cylinder, trigger guard and grip straps, however all this wear is just holster wear, with no deep scratches or damage.
The colour case hardened frame is still in good condition with no visible scratches or marks, and just some very light wear to the top strap.
The original Colt plastic grips are still in very good condition, with just the left panel being a bit dirty (easily cleaned).
The action still feels solid.
Includes a leather holster.
FIREARM SUITABILITY:
The firearm is suitable to be used for:
- Cowboy Action Shooting
- Target shooting

The revolver may also have some collectors value.
