FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The CZ 92 is a sub-compact, double action only, direct blowback, semi-automatic pocket pistol chambered in 6.35mm (.25 ACP), first designed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia in 1945 (as the CZ 45) and later in the Czech Republic, and is still in production to this day.
In 1992 the pistol was slightly redesigned, given a magazine release behind the trigger and a futuristic grip, and has since been known and sold as the CZ 92.
The overall design of the receiver, slide, guide rod, and recoil spring are very similar to the earlier Browning 25 design.
The barrel mount is like the Browning, with a single lug that rotates into a slot in the frame.
Other than the heavy double-action trigger pull, the only safety mechanism is the magazine safety which prevent the firearm from firing when the magazine is removed.
The pistol has no sights, but rather just a simple sighting rib (groove down the top of the slide), since it was designed for concealed carry and personal defense over very short distances.
Note: This pistol should not be dry-fired as this can damage the firing pin and firing pin-retainer.
This gun is in very good used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The original finish excellent, with virtually no wear except for some extremely light wear along edges of trigger guard and front of frame, which is really barely even noticeable.
The original plastic grips are still very good, but with some light scuffing in places.
Extra magazines for this firearm available from Special Armory
This firearm is designed for extreme concealed/pocket carry for self-defense, or as a back-up gun.
While it certainly meets this criteria when it comes to weight and size, I would be cautious about carrying a low power 6.35mm (.25 ACP) pistol as your main self-defense firearm.
This firearm may also have some collector value for a CZ or pocket-pistol collectors theme.
