FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:

The Colt M1911, also known as the “Government” or “Colt Government”, is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered in .45 ACP. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986.

An iconic firearm, the 1911 has been copied and produced by many different manufacturers around the world and is still in production today in countless variants and configurations.
It is widely popular with civilian shooters for self-defense and competitive sports shooting, particularly USPSA, IDPA and IPSC.

One of the manufacturers who have produced a version of the 1911A1 is the Brazilian company Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil, or IMBEL.
IMBEL still produces this pistol in several variants for civilian, military and law enforcement uses, chambered in .45 ACP, .40 S&W, 9mmK (.380 ACP) and 9mmP.
They also produced pistols for US civilian market as the supplier to Springfield Armory until around 2012.

These are known to be well made, dependable 1911 clones with 100% compatibility with original Colt 1911 parts and accessories.

FIREARM CONDITION:

This gun is in very good to excellent, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall original finish is still very good with only some very light wear to the front and top edges of the slide and some extremely light wear to the front edge of the dust cover, sides of the trigger guard and outer edge of the safety lever.
There are some tiny, extremely light scratches in place on the slide, but these are really barely discernible and basically insignificant.
The original plastic grip panels are still excellent.
The action is still extremely tight.
The photo shows the pistol with an extended magazines release lever, but the original is also available.
It includes 2 x 8 round magazines (aftermarket).

FIREARM SUITABILITY:

This pistol is suitable for home self defense, but is a little too large for every-day, concealed carry, unless for a large-framed person.
