FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
Mauser, originally Königliche Waffen Schmieden, is a German arms manufacturer founded in 1811.
Their line of bolt-action rifles and semi-automatic pistols has been produced since the 1870s for the German armed forces.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Mauser designs were also exported and licensed to many countries which adopted them as military and civilian sporting firearms.
Between the first and second World Wars, during the era of the pre-Nazi Weimar Republic, Germany determined it necessary to produce a large number of training rifles that could be used by both the military and civilians, which would not raise any suspicions or concerns with the Allies of any hostile intentions or military rearming.
Mauser therefore developed and produced a series of bolt-action, .22 LR “Sport” and “Target” rifles, that were designed to represent the shape, size, weight and functions of the Mauser G98 military rifle.
The Mauser MS350B falls into this category of .22 LR, bolt-action, training/target rifle, and was produced between 1933-1939.
It was a high quality, magazine-fed, target repeater with 26.5″ barrel, and the action and barrel grooved to accept a telescopic sight.
It included an adjustable micrometer rear sight and front sight (a triangular, a bead and a blade front sight are supplied).
The safety was a swing lever located at the back of the bolt, similar to that of a conventional Mauser 98 rifle action.
The trigger and trigger guard were roughened, and the walnut stock had a Vulcanite steel plate and pistol grip, with a Vulcanite cap on the pistol grip base.
This gun is in very good, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The finish on the barrel is good with no discernible signs of wear, and only a few, very small spots of light, surface rust in places (easily removed).
The finish on the receiver and bolt is still excellent.
The original, Walnut stock is still excellent, except for a few, very small dents and a small, broken piece at the back of the butt on the right side.
Includes a fitted Weaver C4 scope, and a leather sling.
It also comes with a (possibly custom) push-fit/slip-on metal suppressor.
The rifle is a great, fun gun for simple target shooting and plinking at the range, and is also an excellent tool for teaching rifle shooting and fundamentals of basic marksmanship to young or beginner shooters.
This firearm is also suitable for vermin hunting.
This firearm may also have some collectors value due to its age, make or use as a pre-war training rifle.
