FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Norinco Model 213 is a Chinese made copy of the Soviet Tokarev TT-33 pistol, first introduced in 1954 and still manufactured today.
While the original TT-33 pistol was chambered in 7.62×25mm caliber, the Model 213 variant is in 9×19mm Parabellum.
These pistols and their variants are also known colloquially as “Black Star” pistols due to the star embossed in their grip panels.
The TT-33/Model 213 is a short-recoil operated, locked-breech pistol with a Colt M1911 / Browning-type action.
It is of all-steel construction and the quality of the steel is quite good, but external fit and finish can be a little bit rough.
The trigger is single-action with an exposed hammer, and while original TT-33 had no manual safety, the Model 213 does, located at the rear of the frame.
Furthermore, the Model 213 features the thin slide grip grooves, as opposed to the original Russian wide-types.
The Model 213 is fitted with a magazine well block mounted in the rear of the magazine well to accept 9mmP magazines without frame modification.
Another difference is that the Model 213 comes with wrap-around rubber grips, as apposed to the original thin, plastic grip panels on the Tokarev.
The Tokarev TT-33 and its descendants and variants like the Model 213 are actually some of the most prolific handguns in the world, and have a reputation of robust construction, reliability, and economical price.
This gun is in as new used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The finish is still perfect and it looks like this pistol has never been fired.
It comes in its original box with the original manual.
Note: It does not include a magazine, however aftermarket magazines for this pistol should be fairly easy to source.
Extra magazines for this firearm available from Special Armory
This firearm is suitable for home self-defense, but is possibly a little too large for every-day, concealed carry (since it is a duty-sized pistol), unless for a large-framed person.
This firearm is suitable for use in the following sports:*
- IDPA – ESP division
- IPSC – Stock Gun
- PIN SHOOTING – Stock gun and Pin gun
- STEEL CHALLENGE
* The relatively low ammunition capacity of this handgun would make it fairly un-competitive and possibly quite frustrating to use in most time-based sport shooting disciplines.
