FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Ruger Single-Six is a single-action revolver designed to resemble the Colt 1873 Single Action Army “Peacemaker”, and chambered in .22 LR.
Ruger released the original Single-Six revolver in 1953 and it remains a popular handgun to this day, available from Ruger in a variety of configurations and calibers.
All original single action army revolvers and their clones were designed without transfer bars or safety mechanisms which meant that a round loaded in the top chamber could potentially go off if the hammer resting on that chamber was struck with enough force.
In 1973 the revolver was redesigned with a transfer bar to solve this safety issue, and re-released as the New Model Single-Six.
This particular “Old Model” Ruger Single-Six has a 5 1/2″ barrel, pearl grips, blued frame and barrel and black Cerakoted trigger guard, and is part of a matching set (firearms sold individually).
