FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Star CU Starlet is a single-action, direct blowback, pocket pistol chambered 6.35mm (.25 ACP), manufactured by the Spanish firearm company Star.
It is part of a C-series of vest pocket pistols that were all steel-framed, fixed barrel, straight blowback pistols chambered in .25 ACP, and manufactured in various variations between 1924 and 1973.
An aluminum frame version of this series was also produced from 1973 till 1983.
The CU models were the last of this series that had steel frames and were produced from 1956 till 1973.
The primary changes (between this and the previous model) were to bring this pistol up to date with a conventional thumb safety.
The magazine release was enlarged, the grip-frame was slightly lengthened and flared at the bottom, and numerous other small changes were made.
Grips were apparently always black or brown checkered plastic with the Star logo.
The pistol was available with black or chromed slides, and anodized frames in black, “RAF Blue,” “Forest Green,” “Antique Gold” and “Steel Gray.”
This gun is in excellent, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall finish is excellent with only very few, extremely small and light scratches in places, but nothing significant and barely visible.
The original grips are still excellent, with only some very slight discolouration in places.
It comes in its original plastic box and includes the operators manual..
Includes 2 x 8 round magazines.
This firearm is designed for extreme concealed/pocket carry for self-defense, or as a back-up gun.
While it certainly meets this criteria when it comes to weight and size, I would be cautious about carrying a low power 6.35mm (.25 ACP) pistol as your main self-defense firearm.
This firearm may also have some collector value for a Star/Spanish firearms or pocket-pistol collectors theme.
