FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Star Model PD is a compact and lightweight semi-automatic pistol which was manufactured in Spain from 1975 to 1990.
With an external resemblance to the popular M1911, it was very popular with police and civilian users in the self-defense and backup gun role, especially in the United States.
The Star PD improved on its predecessor (Star Model PKM) by using a low-profile adjustable rear sight and by removing material from the slide and other small changes. These modifications, combined with its aluminum alloy construction, resulted in a slim, compact, lightweight and relatively powerful pistol, revolutionary for the time.
This pistol began the trend towards the production by other manufacturers of compact 1911-style pistols, which continues to the present day.
This gun is in fair to good (more on the good side), used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
There is some very light wear to the front of the slide, dust cover and the edges of the trigger guard and grip tang, as well as some extremely light wear to the front, top edges of the slide and the edges of the control parts.
A small section of the slide on the right side has been machined to remove a serial number, but it has been very neatly done.
The aftermarket Pachmyr grips are still in fair to good condition.
The action is still tight.
