FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Star Starlight is a single-action, direct blowback, pocket pistol chambered 6.35mm (.25 ACP), manufactured by the Spanish firearm company Star.
Produced in the 1990s the Starlight shares many features and similarities to the Star E-Series of vest-pocket pistols that were produced from 1925 to 1935, however it is not part of that series.
These were the smallest of the Star vest-pocket pistols, and were a straight blowback design chambered in .25 ACP.
Unusually for pistols of this size, they had external hammers (including the Starlight).
The Starlight has a safety lever located just behind the trigger, similar to on the E-Series, however the magazine release latch is located on the heel of the grip and the frame is made from aluminum alloy (unlike the all steel E-Series).
The magazine also features a finger extension for easier grip.
The rubber grip panels, extended beaver tail and combat-style hammer all resemble the styling of the larger Star Model 30M.
This gun is in very good to excellent, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall condition is excellent with only some extremely light wear along the edges of slide and trigger gaurd, which is barely even noticeable, and the barrel looks very clean.
The original grip panels are still excellent with no marks or scratches.
The action still feels very tight.
This firearm is designed for extreme concealed/pocket carry for self-defense, or as a back-up gun.
While it certainly meets this criteria when it comes to weight and size, I would be cautious about carrying a low power 6.35mm (.25 ACP) pistol as your main self-defense firearm.
This firearm may also have some collector value for a Star/Spanish firearms or pocket-pistol collectors theme.
