FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Tanfoglio GT380 is a compact, single-action, direct blowback, steel-framed pistol chambered 9mmK (.380 ACP), manufactured by the Italian firearm company Tanfoglio.
It was first introduced in 1962 and is still in production today.
The GT380 was marketed and sold in the United States in the late 1980s as the Titan I.
The pistol’s general profile and design slightly resembles that of a Beretta 84 with an open slide, although this particular pistol has a shorter barrel and slide than the standard model.
This pistol also has the magazine release lever at heel of the grip, and two manual safeties. A frame mounted safety lever just in front of the left grip panel disconnects the trigger mechanism, while the slide-mounted safety lever prevents the hammer from engaging the firing pin when dropped.
In this way this safety acts as both a manual drop safety, as well as a mechanism to safely, manually de-cock the hammer.
This gun is in fair, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall matte finish (possibly Parkerized) is still quite good with very light wear to the edges of the slide, frame and control parts.
There are also a fair amount of fine, light scratches all over the slide, but nothing on the frame.
The wooden grips are still in fairly good condition with some light dents and scratches in areas.
This firearm is suitable for home self defense and is perfect for every-day, concealed carry.
This firearm is suitable for use in the following sports:
- IDPA – BUG division
- STEEL CHALLENGE
