FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Taurus model 65 is the same as the model 66, except that it has fixed instead of adjustable sights.
The Taurus Model 66 is a 6 or 7 round (though most older models that you find will be 6 round), medium framed, double action/single action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum.
It was first introduced in 1978 and is still manufactured today.
It is one of Taurus’s most popular and successful revolver models and is longtime favorite of security personnel.
They are known to be extremely reliable and durable with good accuracy and ergonomics, and are a good value-for-money option for people looking for a medium-sized .357 Magnum revolver at an economical price.
This particular example is an older model, 6 round, 4″ barrel variant in blued finish, and comes with slightly customized, original Taurus wooden grips.
This gun is in fair to good, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall finish is still good, but there is some fair wear around the muzzle and front/top of the barrel, as well as some extremely fine wear on some edges of the cylinder, and between the rear sight notch.
There is a also very light drag-line on the cylinder.
There is a small spot of surface rust on the frame where the cylinder crane pivots.
The original wooden grips are still good with the odd, very light ding in places, and the left panel has been slightly customized at top, but quite neatly.
This firearm is suitable for home self defense, but is perhaps a little large (heavy) for every day carry, unless for a large-framed person.
This firearm is suitable for use in the following sports:
- IDPA – Revolver division
- SADPA MPDS – Revolver (REV) division
- ICORE – Classic division
- PIN SHOOTING – Stock gun & Stock revolver
- STEEL CHALLENGE
