FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:

The Colt M1911, also known as the “Government” or “Colt Government”, is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered in .45 ACP. It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986.

An iconic firearm, the 1911 has been copied and produced by many different manufacturers around the world and is still in production today in countless variants and configurations.
It is widely popular with civilian shooters for self-defense and competitive sports shooting, particularly USPSA, IDPA and IPSC.

Colt originally sold the the M1911A1 on the civilian market as the “Colt Government Model”.
They later redesigned the barrel bushing in an attempt to improve accuracy, and the resulting, improved Colt Government Model was officially named the “Colt Mark IV Series 70”.
In 1983 the “Colt Mark IV Series 80” was released that introduced an internal firing pin safety and a new half-cock notch on the sear.

This item is a genuine Colt manufactured conversion kit made up of a slide, barrel, recoil spring with guide-rod, and magazine, which can be installed onto a standard, Series 70 Government Model frame to allow it to fire .22 LR ammunition.
N.B. – This slide will only fit onto a Series 70 frame, and not a Series 80.
N.B. – This item has a serial number and requires licensing.

FIREARM CONDITION:

This conversion kit is in excellent, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The overall finish is almost still perfect with only the slightest amount of extremely light wear in some places (virtually insignificant).
It is fitted with adjustable rear sights.
Includes 1 x 10 round magazine, and the original Colt Styrofoam and cardboard box.
N.B. – This slide will only fit onto a Series 70 frame, and not a Series 80.

FIREARM SUITABILITY:

This item is a conversion kit and not a complete firearm.
It requires installation onto a complete 1911 Series 70 Government Model frame in order to function.

Once complete, this firearm would be a good training tool for those who use a standard caliber 1911 style pistol.
