FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
FIAS or Fabbrica Italiana Armi Sabatti is an Italian firearms manufacturer that was officially founded in 1960 (the company), although members of the Sabatti family/name have been making firearms since the early 1700s, starting with Ludovico Sabatti who produced flint lock pistols and excellent barrels.
Today, the company which now trades under the name Sabatti, is still run by members of the Sabatti family and continues to manufacture high quality rifles and shotguns for hunting and sports shooting.
This FIAS Sabatti is a boxlock, side-plated, double trigger, ejector, over-and-under shotgun chambered in 12 gauge.
Chambers are 3” and the barrels are 26.5″ in length with fixed chokes at ¾ and Full, and with a ¼” (6mm) game rib.
The barrels are stamped, ‘FABRIKA ITALIANA ARMI-SABATTI-GARDONE V.T. MADE IN ITALY FOR KASSNAR IMPORTS’, and ‘ACC. BREDA – CHROME MOLIBDENUM STEEL 12 GAUGE – 3″ MAGNUM”
The receiver, trigger guard and control parts have detailed factory engraving while the checkered stock includes a 1/2″ extension to the butt-plate.
This gun is in fair to good, used condition. It is mechanically good and functional.
The finish on barrels is still good, with only some light scratches in parts.
The condition of the receiver is very good with no discernible marks, and has ornate factory engraving.
There is some light wear to the edges of the trigger guard, which is also engraved.
The wooden forend and butt stock are in fair condition with a fair amount of light scratches and light dents in both.
There is a 1/2″ extension on the butt-plate.
The barrels are 26.5″ in length with fixed chokes at ¾ and Full.
