FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Manurhin PPK is an exact copy of the famous Walther PPK semi-automatic pistol, which has been manufactured under license by the French company Manurhin since 1952.
The PP and the PPK were among the world’s first successful double action semi-automatic pistols, and are still being manufactured today.
The original PP (Polizeipistole) was released in 1929. It was designed for police use and was used by police forces in Europe in the 1930s and later. The semi-automatic pistol operated using a simple blowback action.
The PP was designed with several innovative safety features, including an automatic hammer block, a combination safety/decocker and a loaded chamber indicator.
The most common variant of the series is the Walther PPK released in 1930, a smaller version of the PP with a shorter grip, barrel and frame, and reduced magazine capacity.
The smaller size made it more concealable than the original PP and hence better suited to plainclothes or undercover work, hence the “PPK” abbreviation for Polizeipistole Kriminalmodell (police pistol – detective model).
PPs and PPKs were first produced chambered in 7.65mm (.32 ACP) but were later also made available in 9mmK (.380 ACP) and .22 LR.
This gun is in good, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
There is some light holster wear to font of the slide, and some extremely light wear to edges of slide, front edges of the grip, the grip tang and the decocking lever.
The original plastic grip panels are still very good with only the odd, tiny scratch in places.
