FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
North American Arms (NAA) is a United States company that manufactures pocket pistols and mini-revolvers, also called mouse guns.
These tiny firearms are designed as the ultimate option in concealed carry/pocket carry firearms for self-defense.
The mini-revolvers produced by the company are five-shot, single-action revolvers, which have a spur trigger design.
They are reminiscent of late 19th century pocket revolvers, the main differences being their size and also that NAA’s mini-revolvers are made completely of stainless steel.
To load and unload the revolver the cylinder has to be removed from the frame (excluding a few of their very new models).
NAA manufactures mini-revolvers chambered in .22 Short, .22 LR, .22 Magnum and .22 for black powder, cap and ball.
The NAA .22 LR model is North American Arms’ most popular model.
This particular model is the ‘Black Widow’, which features a slightly longer, “heavier” barrel with under-lug and faux vented rib, dove-tailed larger front and rear sights, a non-fluted cylinder, and a larger, rubber grip with the ‘Black Widow’ hourglass emblem.
This gun is in like new, used condition. It is mechanically good and functional.
The overall condition and grips are virtually still perfect.
This firearm is designed for extreme concealed/pocket carry for self-defense.
It certainly meets this criteria when it comes to weight and size, but I would be cautious about carrying a .22 LR firearm, especially one with only 5 rounds and no easy/fast reload, as your main self-defense firearm.
In saying this, I actually know a person who has used one of these mini-revolvers to successfully defend himself against multiple armed attackers.
I still feel that you are not making things easier for yourself or increasing your odds of success by choosing such a low power caliber and low ammunition capacity.
However if you are very limited by where and how you can conceal a handgun and can only consider the smallest option, then the NAA .22 LR or Magnum fits the bill.
It may also be a good firearm to consider as a second, backup concealed weapon.
