FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Mini-14 is a lightweight, semi-automatic rifle chambered in .223 Remington manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co. and first introduced in 1973.
It was designed and intended for military, police and civilian/sporting use.
The name Mini-14 was coined because it resembles a smaller version of the military M14 rifle.
It utilizes a rotating bolt and a self-cleaning, fixed-piston gas system similar to an M1 rifle.
Since its introduction it has been released in many different calibers and variants to suit different markets, and remains one of Ruger’s most successful rifles, still in production today.
The simplest model of this rifle is called the “Ranch Rifle” and is offered in a wood or synthetic rifle stock paired with a blued or stainless steel receiver and a standard 18.5″ tapered barrel. These rifles feature an adjustable ghost ring rear sight and winged front sight, and they are sold with a detachable scope rail mount and a choice of two 20-round or 5-round detachable box magazines to comply with some U.S. states and other countries which have laws restricting magazine capacity.
All models are chambered in both .223 Remington and 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition except the Target Rifle variant (which is .223 only).
This particular rifle is the Mini-14 GB (“government barrel”) model which features either a pistol grip, side folding stock or a standard semi-pistol grip rifle stock, a 20 or 30-round magazine, bayonet lug, threaded barrel, and flash suppressor.
Sales of these models with a bayonet lug were intended only for law enforcement, military and private security markets, and could only be found in Ruger’s Law Enforcement Catalog, however many have entered the civilian market.
This gun is in excellent used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
The finish on the receiver and barrel is still perfect.
The wooden stock is still in very good condition with only very few small dents and light marks.
Includes a sling.
Includes at least 1 x 30 round magazine.

If you area child of the 1980’s you will recognize this rifle as being a favourite and used often by the members of ‘The A-Team”, specifically the stainless steel version with factory folding stock.
In the 2010 film, Liam Neeson’s character “Col. “Hannibal” Smith” uses this same firearm in the film’s opening sequence as a tribute to the original TV series.
