FIREARM HISTORY AND FEATURES:
The Smith & Wesson SW40VE is a polymer-framed, striker fired, semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W, introduced in 1994 and still in production today (as an updated variant).
Also known as the Sigma, this was Smith & Wesson’s first venture into using synthetic materials in pistol construction, using high-strength polymer for the frame and a pre-set striker firing mechanism very similar to that of a Glock pistol.
Also available chambered in 9mmP and .357 Sig, the SW40Ve was one of the first purpose-designed pistols to chamber and handle the .40 S&W cartridge.
The pistols feature a stainless steel slide, firing-pin block/drop safety and trigger safety.
These pistols have a reputation of being very high quality at a very affordable price.
The Sigmas were later replaced by the Smith & Wesson SD and Shield series of pistols.
This pistol is in like new, used condition. It is mechanically sound and functional.
Its overall condition is virtually still perfect and clean.
